Check committee reading calendars to know what issues are being discussed when. It’s very important to email specific committees about their bills when they are in that committee.

    Read Bills

Read the bills, if you want to know the actual language and full details of what’s being proposed. It’s hard to keep up with all of them, but there are always some big one’s in the public eye – read them here!

Senate / House – Register to Testify (in person / remote)

Public testimony is THE BEST way to have an effect on the legislature. If you’ve heard about an issue, looked at a bill and want to share your thoughts, SIGN UP! All are welcome. You will share a brief, pre-written statement before the committee. Keep it polite, professional and passionate. Share your why.

    Email a Committee

If you’re unable to testify, you can email a committee, before the 2nd or 3rd reading of a bill and share your thoughts for them to consider. Find the correct committee here (dropdown or 2 click process)

    Connect with YOUR Legislators

Find out who your legislators are. You can contact them directly via email, or look up their website/social media (many have a newsletter you can signup for on their website) find out where they stand on the issues you care about!
